When I started my professional career in 1997 I went to the local Mannesmann D2 shop and signed my first mobile phone contract. I selected this beautiful and slim mobile phone for a nice price. It is the sucessor of the Siemens S4. The S6d is still in mint condition and now part of my Computermuseum.
The story of the mobile phones is a good example for an technology which is striving and then declining quickly when a new technology shows up on the market. I created an article about the category of the feature phones which we have here.

Als ich 1997 meine berufliche Laufbahn begann, ging ich in das örtliche Mannesmann D2-Geschäft und unterschrieb meinen ersten Handy-Vertrag. Ich entschied mich für dieses schöne und schlanke Mobiltelefon zu einem guten Preis. Es ist der Nachfolger des Siemens S4. Das S6d ist immer noch in neuwertigem Zustand und gehört jetzt zu meinem Computermuseum.
Die Geschichte der Mobiltelefone ist ein gutes Beispiel für Aufstieg und Fall einer erfolgreichen Plattform. Die Geschichte der Feature Phones habe ich in einem Beitrag beschrieben. Auch dieses Gerät kann man dieser Kategorie zuordnen.
