When Apple presented in 2008 the new Aluminium Unibody Design for the MacBook I was immediately excited. One year before I got my hands on the beautiful white MacBook as my first Apple device ever. The Aluminium finish of the new MacBook was much more beautiful and I bought it without any further consideration. It was an emotional purchase of a computer which appears today as a shortlived model. The MacBook in Aluminium was discontinued in June 2009. It took more than six years before the next Aluminium Unibody MacBook was presented. Find more details in my article about the history of mobile Apple Macintoshs.

Apple made the decision to use the Aluminium finish just for their professional series MacBook Pro and their new MacBook Air. So the MacBook from 2008 is a very special device which today came back to my collection. I used it until 2010 when I purchased the first iPad. I decided to hand over the MacBook to my family who took care of this device all the years. It is still in pristine condition. Thank you Christina for all your careful handling of this beautiful device.

She also returned to me another cool device. It is a charger for the exchangeable batteries of the MacBook. Over all the years the batteries are well preserved and are still in good condition.

Als Apple 2008 das neue Aluminium Unibody Design für das MacBook vorstellte, war ich sofort begeistert. Ein Jahr zuvor hatte ich das schöne weiße MacBook als mein erstes Apple-Gerät überhaupt in die Hände bekommen. Das Aluminium-Finish des neuen MacBooks war viel schöner und ich kaufte es ohne weitere Überlegung. Es war ein emotionaler Kauf eines Computers, das sich heute als ein kurzlebiges Modell herausgestellt hat. Das MacBook aus Aluminium wurde schon im Juni 2009 aus dem Programm genommen. Es dauerte mehr als sechs Jahre, bis das nächste MacBook mit Aluminium-Unibody-Gehäuse vorgestellt wurde. Apple hatte sich dazu entschlossen, das Aluminium-Finish nur noch für die Profi-Serie MacBook Pro und das neue MacBook Air zu verwenden. Das MacBook von 2008 ist also ein ganz besonderes Gerät, das heute in meine Sammlung zurückgekehrt ist. Ich habe es bis 2010 benutzt, als ich mir das erste iPad gekauft habe. Ich beschloss, das MacBook an meine Familie zu übergeben, die sich all die Jahre um das Gerät gekümmert hat. Es ist immer noch in tadellosem Zustand. Vielen Dank, Christina, für den sorgfältigen Umgang mit diesem schönen Gerät.

Sie hat mir auch ein anderes cooles Gerät zurückgegeben. Es ist ein Ladegerät für die austauschbaren Akkus des MacBook. Über all die Jahre sind die Akkus gut erhalten geblieben und sind immer noch in gutem Zustand.
